Promise?

Iris lived her whole life in fear since she was nine running from the abuse and blame her stepfather constantly threw at her. She couldn't wait to turn eighteen to get away and when she did that's exactly what she did. She left and never looked back, attending a college that is hours away and studying a career that will help her to leave that life behind. It wasn't going to be easy for her because of the nightmares, anxiety, and fear that lingered from her past. However, what she didn't expect was to befriend the playboy and class clown Wade Archer, which she cannot stand, along with some other friends. Showing her a new world of genuine friendship and love, Iris starts to think there could be more to her life. But happiness only lasts so long for people like her.
