In the edo period Dimitri was only a year old and the son of the general who was the closest friend with the emperor and then evil turns its head as Aku a shapeshifting master of darkness unleashes an unspeakable evil and has traveled around the world growing up to train to become a shinobi as he and Jack return to face Aku and when about to deliver the final strike Aku tore open portals in time and flung them into the future where Dimitri was sent to the year 2024 and makes new friends and must venture to defeat Aku and return to the past.
