Neema is forced to attend a college hundreds of miles away from her hometown by her sister whom she stayed with when she moved out at her grandmother's house in an old small town.
She bumps into her childhood buddy and crush, now English boy Xavier Thompson. Xavier moved to new castle with his family just after after the new South Africa was born when the Apartheid Era ended. He comes back to his birth country not only with his new looks, all thanks to puberty and his British accent, but with intentions to win his friend back.
Neema slowly lets Xavier in, although with the fear that he brings memories of her late mother who used to be a servant at Xavier's house in the late 1990's with history threatening to ruin their newly rekindled friendship.
Neema fights the feelings she has for Xavier, for she knows that things she loves the most do not last forever.

Primrose was raised to be a perfect little girl her whole life, at a young age she was raised to perfection, kitten heels, dresses and manners of a lady. She met a boy named Xavier in preschool, a skinny little boy with glasses, she grew fond of the funny little boy and they became good friends despite his family being short of money. When Primrose was 8 and Xavier was 9 years old Xavier's Fathers business hit the jackpot and went sky high making them one of the richest families in the country. He moved away leaving primrose in her perfectly controlled life. Years passed, Xavier changed in every way possible, he got contact lenses and his hair grew darker with age and he was toned and covered in tattoos. He was unrecognisable. Primrose however hadn't changed one bit, she had light blonde hair with soft curls and bright green eyes. She still wore perfect prim dresses and kitten heels and held herself like a lady and was kind to everyone even the worst of people.
