In a distant Galaxy there were a species of aliens that lived in the solar system Natorna. They operated in a type of faction system where one faction would be in charge of a certain aspect of society such as a faction for farming and a faction for mining. Issues had been slowly developing in the society. People were becoming untrusting to the faction system and when shipments started to go missing, the mistrust increased to a breaking point. Suddenly, without solicitation, an alien species from beyond the solar system showed up to solve all their problems. However, the figure was wreathed in mystery and uncertainty. With his ulterior motives and peculiar foreknowledge of issues they faced, they were forced to trust him despite everything in them telling them no. Earth and humanity were saved, and the little planet to thank for their salvation was named Umbra. Alice is a xenoarchaeologist, her passion in life has always been the study of ancient cultures, and now she has the opportunity to study the most ancient one of them all. The very one that modern Human civilization is now built on. Alice and her boyfriend accepted a posting on the famous and ancient ship, the U.S.S.A Umbra.
