Octavian stumbled away from the massive, steaming crater, coughing violently. Half-running, half-falling away from the disastrous scene, he gasped for clean air, only to inhale more dusty smoke. 

He rushed away from it, away from everything. He kept moving, down the steep hill to a grassy forest, then past the forest to a quaint little town. And when he felt he'd outstayed his welcome there, he hitched a cab to the big city.

Little did he know what awaited him.

Before he realized what was happening, the ground beneath his torso was crumbling away, larger and larger pieces were disappearing in the hungry darkness below. Nico did not have time to react. The next thing he knew, he was falling too. OR Three demigods fall into Tartarus after finding the statue of Athena Parthenos. For better or worse, it is not the first time for Nico.
