The Remaining

"Mom, I'm right here!" I cry and scream to the lifeless body on the floor. It's happening all over again; I can't do this anymore. She was just awake, now drenched in blood and her insides everywhere. The stench of decay fills the room like a smoke bomb. I have to get out of this house. As I step outside, I fall into a mud pit; which I have no recognition of it being here before. We were the last ones; now my own mother is gone. For what killed her; it's still unknown, but i know its coming to get me next. I'm Tai and I'm the remaining.
