During the Clone Wars, the Bad Batch is tasked with a variety of missions across the galaxy. An unexpected addition to their team throws a wrench in the mix, particularly for Tech, who finds a particular connection with the disillusioned Padawan-turned-mechanic named Vel. Let's be honest... this is a slow burn, cheesy romance with just enough immersion in the Star Wars world to give us all a little vacation with one of our favorite clones. No smut, just PG-13 romance and adventure. It's like a mix of Pride and Prejudice and the Jim and Pam dynamic from The Office. Also, I did my best to keep a steady plot line and tried to think of all the potential plot holes or questions or whatnot, but ultimately, this was just an excuse to indulge in imagining a little romantic adventure for Tech. Year 3071. Exoplanet Steel-1, the only planet in the system along with it's moon, was once a site for mass drone production factory called "Chimera's Dawn" by the JC Jenson company, later modified into a secret research facility, renamed to "Chimera's Fall", to investigate what caused the destruction of Earth and reason behind drones turning against humanity. Few years after the events on the Earth, something known as "The Absolute Solver" created a deadly energy shockwave on Steel-1, resulted in planet's decaying state, annihilated all humans, destroyed most of the machinery, and deactivated or damaged most of the drones on the planet. The surviving worker drones have established a survival base in an abandoned Communications and Surveillance Center called the "Steel Eye". Bastien Water's name gets called out during the Choosing and he has to try to survive on Earth. While his family grieves thinking that Bastien won't survive but he's out to prove them wrong. Bastien meets new people, makes some friends and make some enemies. Bastien has to face many challenges to survive on Earth. Will he be able to do it?
