Douglas Quaid is a humble Construction worker in the 22nd century who dreams of going to Mars and longs for purpose. Feeling the need to gratify this dream, he visits Rekall, a company that implants false memories and experiences into people's minds to make them live out their fantasies as if they really did it. Though during his first visit, he finds out his new false memories, aren't exactly false. This story is complete and each chapter will be released periodically. THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL WORK This story is a kind of remake or retelling of two movies both called Total Recall, blending together both aesthetics of the 1990 and 2012 version of movies. I recommend watching both movies, and reading the novel it was based on "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" By Philip K. Dick (who's a really great sci-fi writer) Once again, although this is my version of the story, the plot and premise of the story is not original to me. Most plot points remain pretty much the same. Others have my own mix into things. Think of this as a writing exercise for me.

The year was 2115. Space travel had been pioneered beyond what anyone in the Old World could have realistically imagined. Humans spread far and wide, across planets and solar systems, transported by robust starships. A new age arose for humanity, one filled with hope and potential. The humans silently swore that the mistakes from the Old World would not be repeated. The unfortunate truth was that one had already been made. A burning curiosity for what is not known, inevitably leads the beholder into the jaws of danger. But danger didn't immediately come then, it waited patiently, until the perfect moment. Among many humans stood a few. Rather usual humans, ones you could find anywhere. Like many, these people flew among the stars, in hopes of safety and stability. What you are about to read has been verified as a first-hand account from one of these individuals. While he is no longer with us, he had requested for his documentation to be published after his passing. --------------------------- Already Inside is a novel adaptation of the online social deduction video game, Among Us. All rights to the Among Us game belong to the development company, Innersloth LLC. The author has no affiliation with Among Us or the Innersloth company, nor was there any intention of plagiarism. This story is purely a labor of love to a game, in which the author saw much potential for a story and world; and whilst creative liberties had to be taken, it was an utmost priority to stay as faithful to the source material as possible. With that being said, characters, themes, and narrative are all original, and created solely by the author. This story is a work of fiction, and is not meant to reflect reality. Any resemblance to real individuals, groups, or events is entirely coincidental. The following contains depictions of violence, body horror, trauma, death, death by suicide, and strong language.
