I was so tired of the back-and-forth with Adrien. Every time I thought I had a plan, he'd throw me off course. I wasn't sure why he kept pursuing me. But there he was, blocking my path again.
"Bianca," he said softly, "Can you stop running from me?"
I had been avoiding him for weeks, but somehow, he always found a way to slip through my defenses. I hated how his presence complicated everything.
"I'm not running," I said, trying to sound firm. "I'm just not interested."
He smirked. "You don't have to be interested. I just want to know why."
There it was again. The same question, the same feeling that made me want to run even more. "You're chasing me like I'm some gem, but I'm never gonna be yours."
For a moment, he didn't respond. I wasn't going to give in this time.
Something felt off. My mind raced with questions, but no answers.
"Just stop, okay?" I muttered, stepping around him, ignoring his stoic face.
But why did it feel like there was something he knew that I didn't?
Suddenly, a fleeting memory hit me. Was this the missing piece of my heart? Adrien wasn't just chasing me- maybe we had a connection I couldn't remember.
