The Prince of the North stumbles upon something that was created as a catalyst to the world. A golem with a sul, crafted out of flesh and blood. These were strictly forbidden due to old wars almost ending the humanoid races. He decides to bring her away with him because she reminds him of someone. He plans to use her to stop the incoming war from the West.

Many years have passed since the war between the humans and monsters. The humans won, and shut the monsters in a place called the underground. Keeping them there with a magical barrier, it took seven usable souls to shatter the barrier, but being monsters, their souls didn't work. Instead, they had to use human souls to break the barrier, and even then, humans were not likely to fall in. Because the human waste system ends up in the underground, the monsters are informed of what's going on up on the surface, and have developed human-like lifestyles, which included scholarship, friendships and the like, but it seemed, that the monsters were eager to get back on the surface again.
