It's hard to pay for a sin you don't know you committed. And that's speaking from experience. Hillcrest Academy is on the other side of the river; a whole different world filled with luxury that my swamp-side self would never even dream of stepping foot into. Well at least not until my acceptance letter came. I'm a girl with a temper but I'm determined not to fuck this once-in-a-lifetime chance up by doing something as stupid as sticking up for myself against these rich snobs... At least that was the plan. Before August Saint declared his intention to ruin my life. Beautiful, rutheless and worshipped like a god within Hillcrest's walls, August is one of the Phantoms- the untouchable kings who rule the school with fear, money and whispered threats. Not to mention he's sexy too- with his features I would appreciate more if he didn't take every chance to make my life miserable. Now this whole fucked up cult-school wants blood. Mine. The only problem? I've never met him before. So either August Saint is lying... Or I committed a sin so terrible that even I buried it. ******* {Incomplete} - Rated Mature - Trigger warnings!! [PARTITION ROMANCE] 18+ She is a mute. He is a politician. And 1947 is burning around them. After surviving a brutal assault and losing her only family, Vrishty, a voiceless Hindu girl, is left alone in a town tearing itself apart. Hunted by the man who first claimed her, she hides in silence, until Meer, an emerging Muslim politician, becomes the only barrier between her and the chaos outside. Bound by guilt and an unexpected pull, Meer begins to realise his vicinity with the girl. But the nation which divided amongst the communal hate, will it be able to save these burning interfaith hearts, alive? __________________________ "In Islam" he continued quietly. "You cannot marry unless both agree... and unless both are Muslim" His expression twisted, a deep aching conflict. I shook my head, looking at him. As if almost pleading him. Noo...please....
