The thuds of feet slamming against the pavement sounded through the chilly night as the bruised man ran as far as he could. His feet throbbed badly from sprinting for so long, but he refused to stop until he found someplace where he wasn't in the direct sight of danger. 

All his life, Hwang  Hyunjin had been running - running away from his narcissistic mother, running away from his neglectful father, running away from his abusive uncle. He barely had any friends who really cared about him, nor did he have anything to look forward to in life. His life was never meant to be easy - he knew that all too well by now - but he had never anticipated just how much more confusing it could get. 

He never thought he'd be assaulted during his boring shift by a man, who he pissed off, who then turned out to not even be human, who was now chasing him with a thirst for his blood.
