Veihatel is on the brink of war with a neighboring kingdom. 

The queen is away on business to disarm the conflict, but she has left her strongest warriors behind without reason.

Mysterious obelisks begin to appear, and even stranger occurrences follow; A murder places a knight in the limelight, a trial goes horribly wrong, and a kidnapping of proportion takes place under their noses.

It is not until the obelisks wake that their true threat is realized.
