Amos - The End and the Beginning
"I'm stuck...I'm stuck .....god damn this piece of crap truck ..."
Blam!
The rear window of the cab shattered into a spiderweb of cracks around the bullet hole that had accompanied the gunshot.
"Alanah wait, it's me....stop shooting" Amos shouted between ragged breaths as he came up to the cab.
"Where's your gun? Why aren't you shooting at these bastards?" came an angry response from the set of legs jerking and kicking their way out from the footwell of the truck.
Fourteen-year-old Amos has already buried both parents and now eviction looms with no prospects and no options for a boy on his own.
For Amos, this has meant arming himself, hardening his heart, and crossing lines he never knew existed. Every crime he commits leaves him fearful of what he will have to do next and desperate to repay his victims.
When he stumbles upon Alanah, a fifteen-year-old girl trapped in a restaurant that's more like a prison than a workplace Amos risks everything to pull her out, and the two form an unlikely alliance. Together, they test the limits of survival, loyalty, and what they're willing to do to secure a future.
When Amos runs afoul of an old-world crime family, he is targeted by an older matriarch who covets black magic and the power it gives her. After stalking and attacking him the curse she casts begins to slowly take his soul from him.
Alanah is forced to recruit whatever help she can to help her force the old world witch to lift the curse before it becomes too late to save Amos. As time starts to run out for Amos, Alanah has to escalate her campaign of retribution to force the family to intervene and demand a peace.
