Incident at Facility IX
A story set in the Warhammer 40k universe that I entered into the recent Black Library submissions window. A Planetary Defense Force squad led by a former Imperial Guard trooper are sent on a mission to a seemingly innocuous facility in the vast forests of their home world. Before long, the true nature of the situation at Facility IX becomes clear, and the squad are in a fight for their lives against a terrifying and insidious enemy. The work was not selected to be taken any further, so I am uploading it here in the hopes that someone will still be able to enjoy it. Please let me know what you think!Complete
Renegade (Aquila, Book 3)
[Sequel to 'Imperium'] Following the successful defense of Alamarri and the sudden withdrawal of Hepharion's Chaos Marines, Caius returned to Macragge in time to see the return of his Primarch and receive a new mission from his Captain: find Hepharion and bring him down, no matter the cost, and chase down and secure the remains of the ancient Titan project. At first, resources seem scarce with the Black Crusade taking much of the attention and firepower of the Ultramarines. However, help comes in an unexpected form when an Inquisitor's acolyte appears with an unexpected offer for the men of the Twentieth. Across the stars, Bahad is called before the Council of Farseers of his Craftworld and desperately pleads his case for his alliance with Caius and his hunt for Hepharion. However, this falls on deaf ears when the Craftworld, concerned about his continued association with the Imperium, orders him into a temporary arrest to await further judgment. While in isolation, plagued by his visions of what shall happen without his involvement, he, too, receives an unexpected visitor: a Harlequin Solitaire with a keen interest on seeing him reunited with his Ultramarine. Mara comes from a poor background, fighting from a young age to make something of herself. This led her to the academy, a military recruitment organization where solider bled and where spirits were broken. Its where HE is...where he grew up, Kael..... Kael is arrogant, prideful and infuriating. The golden boy, the standard, the heir of power. What happens when Mara and Kael find themselves thrown together in the academy? Working together against odds stacked against them from the corruption of power. Will they overcome these trials together? Or will they both be destined to fail? ------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a slowburn, enemies to lovers story. Its a work in progress and its not perfect. I'm just a girl who loves dystopian stories and who lives inside her mind wanting to create a simple story with some of my favorite/common tropes. Like I said this story isn't PERFECT, I wrote this many years ago and I've just never published it anywhere. So I understand it can be a bit confusing. But I tried to fix it up and I'm adding to it.
