Verity Pevensie returns from school in Tashbaan, with the discovery that the man who pretended to be her friend was a spy, who worked for Lord Alaric. A man who intended on conquering Narnia, while she and her siblings were sailing to the Lone Islands on the Splendour Hylene. And he also planned to assissanate Andrew's close friend. But Verity can't tell anyone or it would cost her her life.
When she returns home two men take in interest in her. On top of that Peter and Susan had her life planned out, but both parties had different plans. Susan's was marriage to a certain Prince Àrmand and Peter's was sending Verity back to Tashbaan to do work he was not able to do. The problem was Verity had plans for her own life, but she wasn't brave enough to confront her siblings.
 The plot thickens when Edmund and her are castaway and find themselves on a desolate island. Will they ever see their family again?
