In the sleepy town known as Pallet Town, a young old boy named Red has been eagerly awaiting his 11th birthday for the moment where he can finally receive his first Starter Pokémon. Upon arriving at Professor Oak's Laboratory on the big day, Red decides to choose Charmander, whereas his best friend and longtime rival known as Blue chooses Squirtle as his choice.
    
    After suffering his first ever loss at the hands of his rival, Red sets off on a quest to become the world's strongest Pokémon Trainer and also complete the Pokédex as part of Professor Oak's dream.
