Jewel is the sheltered mermaid princess of the troubled undersea kingdom of Reddia. Derin is a poor, orphaned merman with a flair for storytelling. This is their romantic, magical adventure, told in alternating perspectives.

A loose mermaid-themed retelling of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp set in the same vibrant mermaid universe as The Siren Queen and The Servant Girl and The Sea Prince, although it can also be read as a stand-alone novella.
