Ariana lived in a small apartment in the middle of the city. Her father was away on a business trip, so she had the whole place to herself. The city had a specific set of rules that were said to help the human race in order to survive. Ariana always followed them, afraid of what might happen if she didn't.

Juniper was her best friend, and also her partner. Ariana hadn't heard from Juniper in a while, which began to worry her. She never answered her calls, never showed up to school... nothing. 

That's when she heard a knock on the door. Opening it, she was met by a familiar face: Juniper.
