~ Mello x male reader ~

___ came to the orphanage when he was 6, and does not remember much of anything from his early childhood because of dissociative amnesia, caused by some kind of childhood psychological trauma. They grew up at Wammy's house together, and at first hated each other because Mello commented on his eyes and ___ beat him up. For months they would argue about dumb shit and finally found a shared love for chocolate. They took a bit of time to warm up to each other but eventually, they were inseparable. Then Matt came along, all 3 of them became known for being fuckin menaces to the orphanage, always together. Although Matt and the other 2 boys were close, ___ and Mello were closer. They had opened up to each other emotionally, after being attached at the hip for years, which was something that nobody else ever got out of them. Both boys acted cold and stoic towards most other people, they were different around just each other. By the time they left the orphanage, all 3 joined the Mafia and became very respected among members. At the top of it all were Mello and ___ , always passing a chocolate bar back and forth, biting off pieces after almost every sentence. Although Mello hated Near, ___ didn't really give a shit about him. Near had never bothered ___ and he never intended to bother him either. They even played together a few times as kids. But it irked Mello, thinking about the fact that his best friend did not mind being in the company of Mello's biggest rival. ___ found it amusing that he seemed jealous as fuck when he even mentioned Near or anything relating to the boy. Mello, ___ , and Matt lived at the Mafia HQ and were far into the Kira case, of course not for justice, but for No.1 getting at least one death note, and No.2 getting it before Near (This was mainly Mello's goal). ___ of course tried to stay out of Near and Mello's troubling relationship, if one would even call it that, as he didn't want to end up getting between the 2 or losing Mello in any way.
