Have you ever wished to spend your days sitting in the sun? Not having to care about anyone or anything? Never having to worry about make-up, boys, clothes, money, or family? Well then I, Rachel Robby, can relate. I fact, I wished the very same thing upon a shooting star. Well, I thought it was a shooting star, but it could have been an airplane. Or maybe, if you believe in aliens, you would have thought of it to be a UFO. Anyways, my wish came true. So here I am, stuck in my cat Dexter's body, when I'm actually supposed to be sipping on a margarita on a white sandy beach in Maui for my yearly vacation. Either way, I still get relax and I'm even starting to enjoy my life. That is, until I find out that I'm not the only person-gone-animal. So for now, I'm trying to find a way to get not only myself, but also my new companion, back into human form before the cat drags in something even worse.

Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Idiots.

On an unusually warm February morning, one million monkeys sit down in front of one million old fashioned typewriters and begin typing randomly. By chance, they create one perfect sentence that draws together four women from four different parts of Baltimore. It is the once in a generation month of the Lover's Moon - the month when the 28 days of February misalign completely with the phases of the moon. With no full moon rising throughout the month, those people who have failed to find love in their lives are able to see hope in the relative darkness of that rarest of all months. Instead, lies and hope collide and the plan for the day is disrupted when all one million monkeys become distracted by the sight of a premature spring emerging on the warmest February day in Baltimore history. As a result, love eludes the four women. One gives up. Two get bored. And one dies as her son evaporates into the ether that separates the memorable from the forgotten.
