I know I lack in many ways, and I know you deserve much better, but I can't bare the thought of you with someone else. Believe me Dua, I'll be better, for you. I'll do anything." His eyes pleaded, his voice trembling with desperation. And now "Get lost! You're nothing but a nuisance! An eyesore!" He scowled, the love that warmed his gaze now replaced into something dark and terrifying. *** Out of all my sins and mistakes, Haidar was my favorite and my worst. We began as friends in secondary school only for fate to tear us apart and cruelly reunite us at the university, where our lives took a devastating turn. Everyone on campus warned me to stay away from Haidar. They called him bad news, but I didn't listen, how could I? So I dismissed them as liars, enemies of what I believed was love. A love that shattered me. A love that killed the only genuine person that loved me. Now, evil thoughts crowded my mind, attacking my sanity. With tear blurred eyes, I stared at the heart wrenching letters trembling in my hands. My fingers shook as I tore one open, his familiar cold, ruthless voice echoed in my head as I read. "It's over! As usual have an abortion. Don't cross me. I can ruin you with a flick of my finger. I have everything I need." The bastard didn't just abandoned me but he murdered the girl who once loved him too deeply. How could he strip me off my dignity by ending our years of relationship in the most humiliating way, turning me into a public joke, a campus spectacle. Indeed villains aren't born, they are slowly, painfully and deliberately made by the likes of HAIDAR ISAH. And I'm certain that I will survive this storm but not as the girl he broke but as the nightmare he would beg to wake up from but it will be too late. *** Highest Ranking🏆 #1 in Campus love story on 04-01-25 #1 in Ethiopia on 12-01-25 #2 in Mistreated on 04-01-25 Started 20/12/04 ©

Ranked #2 in Africa (6/08/18) Ranked #3 in Nigeria (9/08/18) Ranked #6 in Naija (8/08/18) Chikamharida is a girl that has always felt inferior to everyone, her heart has been broken a million times by close friends and even family. She feels like she is not worth living and she suffers from anxiety disorders and depression. She would soon be leaving for college, will she be able to pass through it with that mindset or is this mission just suicidal?...she has always wanted to be remembered in life, can she achieve those dreams? Flaws of an African Girl is book about the stigma and misconceptions related to mental illnesses. "Do you see those sunflowers over there? They look so free and at ease. They bloom in happiness without giving a care about the world. They are so beautiful. You know, I easily get intrigued by nature; it so beautiful. Sometimes, I wish I could be like the birds. They are so free. They are limitless. They are not enslaved or imprisoned to one place. They have freedom to fly and stop wherever they want to. No one can stop them from flying and singing in the morning sun. There is no restriction to life in their world. They thrive in freedom. They have no expectations to live up to; you don't need to live up to any standards, all you need to do is live. As humans, we are not expected to live that way. We grew up in a society where there are standards and norms everyone is expected to follow. There are limits to what we can do and where we can go. Some people are lucky and bypass those norms. Some of us aren't that lucky. Some of us don't have physical freedom, emotional freedom or even spiritual freedom. We are imprisoned by forces around us and forced to do things that we don't want to do but who are we to complain, right? It's the norm of the society." Cover photo by @jane_lausten

My sister has always attracted the wrong crowd who didn't hesitate to take advantage of her meek heart. Right from small, Zikora's naïvety always made me fight with every single one of her 'friends'. I have never been comfortable with any of her so-called friendships. Not even the one she was in at the moment with her new roommate. Funny enough was that I actually liked their relationship. It was pure, true, and more of a sisterhood. For the first time in history, Zikora made a true friend. I inwardly approved of the friendship, when the girl in question, didn't think twice in lunging a frying pan at my little sister's ex-boyfriend. And I know as you're reading this, you may ask yourself, what was my issue then? My issue wasn't with the friendship, but the babe herself. Her appearance reminded me of that Disney princess that had the complexion of a vampire. Snow White, very innocent looking creature. But that girl was the definition of a werey in disguise. Chineke ekwela! And I know you've already started judging me as the problematic character already. I am not problematic, she is. You may begin to think that okay I'm probably overreacting. Oga, Aunty, I am not overreacting. On the first day of meeting her, this babe carried her old fashioned okrika shoe that looked like it suffered for nineteen years, and threw it at the glass of my car while I was driving. Aunty, ha si na hel zipụ gị, ma-ọbụ site n'oké ọhịa ọjọọ dị n'obodo m? {did they send you from hell, or from the evil forest in my village?} That one is her business sha. She should just carry her small bum bum and stay on her own, because she's really getting on my nerves. I don't blame her, because she knows she's fine. That's why she's doing all this bullshit. But all that I know is using the word 'mad' in a sentence, I would say; Biboere Mirabel Madagascar is a MAD WOMAN. Come and fight me.

University friends Luisa and Kay reunite in Nairobi after a year apart to do some feel good volunteering but their friendship and the trip begin to unravel the moment they meet a strikingly handsome British philanthropist and a Ghanaian entrepreneur. In short order the donor funding the project that has brought them together is revealed to be rich and cruel, her interest in coming to Kenya to "help" routed in deeply disturbing ideology. Meanwhile, Luisa must confront her reasons for maintaining her friendship with Kay, her status as heir to a nearly incalculable fortune, her feelings for a man who seems a little too good to be true and the tragedy she left behind back in California. ** A/N This story is a work of fiction, but it's based on things I saw and heard while working in international development for five years. It's my attempt to find the complicated middle ground between those who would idealize international development and those who would condemn it. It's also a place for me to deal with a difficult friendship I had with a friend who was suffering from mental illness. She's since passed away and I'm not sure I ever really got over it. The story isn't at all done so as I'm writing I'm figuring it out too. I've set the story Nairobi and in Kisumu, which is far west of Nairobi. I've picked the title partly because of what Nairobi represents. Nairobi is a throbbing, innovative metropolis situated in a continent that is still viewed very narrowly as a place in need of help.

💔 TRUE BLACK LOVE by Ilianna Binoche (Andrea D. Tumblin) She's bold. Brilliant. Beautiful. And she refuses to shrink for anyone. "What other people hold onto in their tiny brains about Black women is none of my concern," Africa Kenyatta Anderson reminds herself every time someone underestimates her. Once a girl with pigtails and too many dreams, she's now a dark-skinned, curvy powerhouse running circles around men who swear she doesn't belong in their boardrooms. Sharp as a blade and twice as dangerous, Africa built her empire from grit, grace, and the audacity to believe she deserves more. But success comes with a cost. Back in her hometown, Israel Nathaniel King is watching the life he built slowly unravel. His wife-the woman he sacrificed everything for-has checked out of their marriage, chasing ambition while leaving his heart and their children behind. He's done everything right: husband, father, provider... and still, it isn't enough. When Africa and Israel's worlds collide, sparks fly between two people bruised by love, broken by expectation, and desperate to believe that something real still exists. Can a woman who's fought to stand alone learn to let someone in? Can a man who's lost his faith in love learn to trust again? How we made it in South Africa

19 partes Concluida

I invite you to share in our journey. I started writing this book 13 May 2008 It takes you through our whole experience of rising up and prospering in South Africa - even under a racist ANC government. I've written this book as an inspiration, that even in the face of huge adversity, you can come out on the other side and make it. However, my wish for you is not to only "make it" - but live your best life. I invite you to come on this journey with us. It was sometimes an emotional rollercoaster with many trials and tribulations, but the end result was worth it. This book is very special and unique in the sense that it was started and written while I was at the lowest point in my life with no salvation in sight... It's wasn't written in hindsight or after the fact. It started with hope, a dream, a promise. You will see when you start going through these pages - If I could make it, surely you can. The book also has a public Facebook page "How we made it in South Africa" with loads of pictures and videos of us and our adventures. You're most welcome to visit the page and say hi. Enjoy your journey.
