In a world overrun by the undead, survival is the only law. Isabelle, a lost girl wandering the apocalypse, is found by Daryl Dixon, as she's passed out and surrounded by walkers. He saves her from being eaten, only to tell her to get lost once she wakes up. Yet, despite his harsh demeanor and insistence, they find themselves unable to part ways.
Daryl's lethal skills and ruthless nature make him as dangerous as the Walkers; perhaps even more deadly. His dark, haunted eyes reveal little, and his words are a harsh mix of survival and regret. "I should've done it. I should've killed you," he mutters, torn between keeping her safe and pushing her away.
Isabelle's persistence chips away at his defenses, but Daryl remains guarded. "Look, whatever it is you're holding on to; it's already gone, man. Wake the hell up," he snaps, trying to drive her away while staying close enough to protect her. His internal conflict is loud-he hates and loves her, wishing she were gone but unable to let her go.
Despite his rough edges, Daryl's protective instincts emerge. "I don't know what I'm doing. But I'm trying really hard. I wish things were like how you want them to be. That's the way they should be. But they aren't. And I have to keep you safe. I'm gonna hold onto the gun for a while... till you want it. Or not. But either way, you're stuck with me."
"Look, the world is just shit sometimes. And you live with it. Sometimes that's all you can do."
In "Surviving Daryl Dixon," Isabelle must navigate a world of external threats and the complexities of a man who is as much a savior as he is a danger.
Daryl Dixon x Reader
Run.
That's the first basic instinct a person can have in life. To run. Whether you are running late, exercising, playing a sport, games as a child, or simply because you enjoy it. Running is important to life... especially when one's life is in danger. The adrenaline takes over and the amount of energy a person can have is unimaginable; they can run for hours if need be. Fight-or-Flight Response, as some people call it.
The desperate need to run.
The best advice when the sound of snarling trails behind you, catching up with hostile intent? Run. Run and never look back. The world, in simple terms, had gone to shit. Without warning, everyone found themselves having to run and fight in order to survive. Although, no one ever expected to be fighting the dead. With humanity on the brink of extinction, (Y/N) finds herself stumbling across a group and joins them in an attempt to survive to see another day, though she never expected the day would come where she'd call these people her family.
