this is a rewrite of my old version of this, I felt like the storyline wasn't going exactly as I had planned so I decided to do a rewrite with a new character design. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the aftermath of Lord Farquaad's downfall, the kingdom of Duloc falls into ruin, leaving its citizens scattered and its once-imposing structures abandoned. Elowen, a woman bound to a life of silence and servitude under Farquaad's oppressive rule, finds herself abandoned in the decaying kingdom. As Shrek and Fiona find their happily ever after, Elowen's world crumbles around her. With no family, no friends, and no future in Duloc, Elowen is forced to confront the painful truth that she is alone in a world that has moved on without her. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once again I wrote this fanfic because I'm honestly just tired of people hating on the movies and over-sexualising the whole thing, I just wanted to create a fanfic that sort of revived my inner child, I loved the movies as a kid and I've always wanted to read good fanfiction about it.
