"And there's no room In This Hell, but there's no room in the next."

...

Grace Harcourt is a bachelorette, and a very esteemed one at that; the only issue is, she seems to have trouble with doing what she is told, and also, holding her tongue. The black sheep of the family? Maybe. However, when she becomes acquainted with Gregory Violet, a bachelor in his own right and a master artist, she begins to entrust herself to him -- this man, so different, so cold, yet so capable of something else, something more.
But is this the happy ending that Grace is looking for? Or is there something else lurking in the shadows that threatens to ruin everything?

"I don't know what's going on, but there's one thing I'm absolutely certain of: Sebastian Michaelis is not human, and I have no clue of what his intention are or what he's capable of doing. " ♞ Bleak. That, she determined, had become the word to sum up Rosalie Everett's ostracized life. Born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina, her childhood marred by the lurid mother of her mother whose killer was never discovered, she was left with a weight that pressed on her chest even after removing herself entirely from both the people and the phantoms of her hometown. Relocated in New York, Rosalie spends her days commuting between school and work, a humdrum schedule that's defined her life for the past three years and left her desolate. However, a visit to an antique shop places Rosalie in possession of a haunting sapphire ring that seems to tether itself to her soul. Ominous circumstances surrounding the gem put the twenty-something in Victorian England with little memory of what got her there, and she finds herself spellbound by a scarlet-eyed, clad-in-black butler whose charms are too convincing to be human under the service of a boy-earl, bound to one another by a sinister contract. As she tries to find her way back home without falling prey to the infernal creature who has taken a dark interest in her, Rosalie finds herself a part of a much larger game when she notices the other entity that pervades her life. ♞ COMPLETED [ 12/26/22 ] | UNEDITED *ruff* draft:) SOUNDTRACK - FALLEN #1 in kuroshitsuji [ 10/08/22 ] #1 in blackbutler [ 05/15/22 ] I do not own Black Butler, nor do I own the characters connected to it. The moon was high over the bell-tower, as a fire burned in the distance. The stars were covered by a dense fog, and the cloisters of Weston College were hiding something. 《☆》 Make that someone. For centuries, those who placed their faith in the wild unknown had been ostracised by society. Whether or not they practiced black magic, the world made pariahs of witches. In London, there existed a cult of the wealthy, the elite, those working for the Crown: the Kings and Queens of England, who answered only to God, known as The Aristocrats of Evil. While these villainous noblemen used to serve the monarchy more directly, their influence hasn't died down at all in modernity. The twenty-first century merely brought out a different side to their longstanding heraldry of sin. Some might say their power has even grown stronger. For the first time in her life, Valerie Belrose hated herself for what she was, and what she'd done. Protecting Vincent Phantomhive had become her dearest ambition. It gave her mere existence meaning, and she couldn't bear the thought of forsaking him. Thankfully, the man he'd wanted her so badly to love could help keep safe the only friend she ever had. That is, as safe as any mortal could be. He told her. She didn't fully believe him. He was an undertaker, a mortician, but that wasn't even close to being the most important thing about him. He was a vampire, and the night was just as much his as it was hers. "...maybe the whole world is one big, confusing unfair mystery that doesn't make sense and never will. But hey, maybe that's the beauty of it all: the not knowing." • • • This is the story of Brenna Wolfe, an Irish Catholic who loses her family to a virulent outbreak of a deadly disease, and lives through it herself. She is saved by a demon named Felix, who allows her to live out her wildest dreams for the ultimate price: her eternal soul. However, that might not be what her dreams are worth after all. At least, that's what Felix reveals right before he proposes a different deal entirely. It's one Brenna accepts without hesitation, only to discover later on how unhinged his offer truly was. Past ignorance is replaced with sacred knowledge, and following the ultimate test of faith, Brenna finally comes to know the value of what she was seeking all along. ☆ Interesting facts ☆ 1. This is based on Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler. It's largely an OC thing, but includes several canon characters. Thus, I've named it honoring the anime, and it's full name is "Kuroshitsuji: Seventh Sin." 2. It's one of the first things I wrote on here so it's bound to have a few issues. 3. The structure of the chapters is based on Dante's Inferno/The Devine Comedy. I started this around the same time I drafted "Letters From Iroh," when I was in my first year of college/university. I was reading the book for a Humanities course at the time and writing this helped me to better remember the order of all the layers of Hell and the corresponding sins/punishments/etc. Look at that, anime helped my grade! Haha. Alllllright. Alright? Alright. That's about it. Enjoy! (*^^)v
