I'm not the first one to write about speculative zoology, I was inspired by many books and tv shows which introduced the idea to me. Those which helped me the most with this project were H.G. Wells' Time Machine and Dougal Dixon's After Man. As well, I should mention the documentary style tv episodes The Future is Wild. Every night, I've looked out my window, just watching for it. They say the monster you see is better than the monster you don't. But, no one who's seen this monster has been able to describe it for us. No one's survived to. For some reason though, I can't help but look. I bet that's why the tourists don't come back from the woods, because they can't stop themselves from looking. That's how it catches them. I hope it doesn't catch me.
