He was the student of Balarama along with his elder brother Samba, and later of Pradyumna when he returned after slaying Shambarasura.  
    Bhanu inherited his father's nature entirely, from the mischief to the incredibly sharp mind, and his mother's mental fortitude and forbearance. Together, he was entirely the son of his parents, who were verily considered the protectors of the Universe.
