The apprentice is determined to break the curse and discovers a sentient witch hat during her travels to ancient ruins. They become friends after some time, but the apprentice falls unconscious because of her curse. Before losing consciousness, she boldly proclaims her last wish to the witch hat to use her body to find magic to break the curse. The witch hat is determined to find a cure for her friends curse sets out on an adventure.
