Many years ago, so many that it is nearly forgotten, there was a group that was entrusted with the care and protection of the people. Their goals were twofold: Protect Trinita from any threats internal or external, and ensure justice and peace. This order of people were called to carry out their tasks in secret. They were bound by ancestral law to lead two lives, that as a normal citizen of Trinita, and as a unique member of their order. 
The reason for this secrecy was to protect the identity of the member as well as the lives of his family. This bond of secrecy was so sacred and maintained, that even the king himself would not know the identity of the men who served him and the country. This tradition would ensure the work of the order in the event an atrocious king ever ascended the throne. 
This hidden entity, these shadowed few, were said to be chosen by The Ancient himself. Because of this call, the members were said to possess special powers or gifts bestowed upon them by the Ancient. But the time of the veiled guardians was over, this was according to the word of a king who had disbanded them years ago. From then on, the guardians were a myth, a fable who would save the people from a darkness that was growing in the corners of the world.

Ronin saw the faces of the new Children of the Light and was tasked by the Elders to track them down and protect them at all costs.The children were both college students and were one male and one female whose names were James Hillman and Sara Danvers..When Ronin went to see he ran into a ghost from his past, Lillian. The story continues on with Ronin seeking answers from the Elders about how a Guardian could come back from the dead.
