When Mara Everett begins her final year of art school, the last thing she expects is to be captivated by Lucas Reed, the charismatic guest lecturer. At 38, Lucas is brilliant, intense, and initially dismissive of Mara, seeing her as just another student. Despite his initial coldness, circumstances bring them together when Mara seeks his guidance for a major project.

As they meet up for art sessions, Lucas's walls begin to crumble, and he discovers a depth in Mara that he hadn't seen before. One evening, Lucas invites Mara to his home studio to show her a rare collection of his works. Unexpectedly, a city-wide lockdown traps them together in his house, forcing them into close quarters.

As days turn into weeks, the enforced proximity allows Mara and Lucas to slowly uncover each other's hidden layers. Conversations flow, barriers break down, and their connection deepens into a profound and unexpected romance.

If You Knew Me

42 parts Complete

Mara has always been in the shadows of her three sisters. First there's Tate, the youngest, who has an incredible amount of talent and passion for dance. Then there's Adalynn, the most popular girl in the junior class who is embarrassed to have a sister as lame as Mara. And finally, there's Baileigh, the oldest of the four and Mara's best friend who moved across the country last summer to follow her dreams. Out of the four sisters, Mara is the only one with absolutely no plans, but she likes it that way. All she's looking forward to is following Baileigh to Los Angeles after graduation. Until then, she's fine with being the girl in the hallway that no one talks to, and she likes drinking smoothies alone at Bigfoot's Diner. She prefers it that way. But what happens when Mara is thrust into the world full of drama that she has always been able to avoid? Will she be able to find her way back out? Or will she want to stay?
