When you close your eyes and picture the first person to ever paint the walls of a cave, do you picture a man or a woman? When you imagine the first tool humans developed, is it something deadly, like a spear tip, or something nondescript, like a bag to carry berries? When you think of human interactions with nature, is it one of conquest or cooperation? The Woman has no name and no voice, yet she discovers that she possesses a power never before seen by anyone in her small community. She simply wants to live her life, but when a powerful spirit threatens her tribe and her home, she cannot sit around waiting to be rescued. The Woman grapples with towering questions as she carves a place for herself in the world. What defines the relationship between humans and the rest of the natural world? Does power only manifest as brute strength? And what is she willing to do to protect those she loves?
