A Queen Among Mortals

Jude is broken. She barely ever sleeps, her mind racing too much to calm down, she never has an appetite, and her self worth is at an all time low. She has no purpose anymore. She is no longer part of the Court of Shadows, she is no longer Seneschal to the High King of Faerie, and she is no longer Queen of Faerie. She feels useless. She now lives with her older sister Vivienne and her foster brother Oak in Vivienne's apartment. She lays around the house all day until a surprise visit from Heather manages to convince her to get a job. So Jude, with no prior experience, starts working at a local coffee shop named 'Fairytale Cafe'. She only does it for the coffee, so she can keep herself going through the day without collapsing from exhaustion and lack of sleep. One day at work, Jude meets someone new, and she feels some semblance of emotion. She has friends, a life, and shes finally happy again. But it all comes crashing down when she gets a message from the High King.
