"she is ugly- I don't want to marry her," he said and my smile dropped
this engagement/ marriage was arranged by elders of our families-my Grandpa and his grandfather
wanted to turn their years of friendship into a relationship...i saw my fiancée for the first time on our engagement day and my future husband declared before everyone that he hates this alliance.
i don't want to marry him too, but i cannot say that....in my 8 years of life this is the first time i have experienced blatant hate.....yes we are getting engaged at 8 years!....this is a longstanding wish of both families and we got fixed for them.
"you don't say that to a girl Sachin..." his grandfather reprimanded him laughing
everyone took it as a joke except me
we exchanged rings and that was the last day i met him
i don't know how this marriage/ engagement will be managed in the future
communication, compromise, and commitment are the three things required in a marriage- at least we have one thing-compromise!
