What My Mother Forgot by WhatMyMotherForgot

Before reading this, you should know... This is not a happy story. There is no happy ending. Simply put, this is a chronological account of the abuse, neglect, and bullying I suffered at the hands of loved ones from birth to 17 years old. It does not include reflection. It is meant to be a recounting from my perspective at the time. When you read content from Birth to around 11 years old, it is intended to sound like a young child is telling the story, versus those written about events that occurred when I was older. Before embarking on writing this, I considered how honest I wanted to be and what details I truly wanted and needed to share. Ultimately, I chose to publish these things anonymously. I've taken some responsibility for hiding the identities of those I wrote about, but I did not protect them nearly as much as I protected myself. Over the years, I've kept these stories secret because I love these people who hurt me. I believed I was loving them by not telling. But now that I'm an adult, and I understand love a little better, I realized that while I may have been making someone feel safe, I was not keeping myself safe.

I decided to write this memoir for my kids. Kalina, Braylon and Bryce. I wanted them to know how I grew up and what all happened when I was a child. Maybe one day they can sit down and read this little book and remember MOMMA. I want to also apologize if this memoir offends any family member, every one has their memories of events in their lives. Let me tell mines as I lived them and as they were told to me by other family members during my lifetime. This book is filled with traumatic yet funny memories of my upbringing. It's a tell all from what I went through, in my eyes not anyone else's. Hope you enjoy reading this as I've enjoyed writing it. It's not meant to seek pity, instead it's written to shine light on the real problems of society. poverty, single moms, the damage due to drugs, incest, abuse and most of all, origins of brokenness. We all have a story to tell, mine is of survival. It didn't happened to me it happened for my good. God is good!! Be blessed.

Bare with me for this is just a school project made by myself back in 2018 and as far as I can remember I didn't have enough time to refurnish my story because of the deadline. Also this story is a short reference of the books that I've read and movies that I've watched that really sparks my interests in writing stories. This story is about a family's struggle, misunderstanding and separation. There's no perfect family rich or poor. It's a little bit close to my experience but most of are just full fiction.
