I had a terrible feeling about this. Not about the whole setup or anything, just on what was to come.

This is supposed to be the happiest day of my life, isn't it? I mean it's my wedding day for goodness sake, so why did I have this eerie feeling?

Maybe it's because I've been standing on the altar for a while and no one has been able to contact Richard, my soon to be husband. I really won't believe he'd stand me up on my wedding day, our wedding day.

Maybe he was running late, maybe he decided to make a really stupid grand entrance, maybe...

The sound of a bullet was heard in the church hall. My heart was filled with panic, but my legs were already affected by the adrenaline rushing through me.

"Please God, no, just no" I silently prayed as I burst open the church doors, almost stumbling on the way, looking back I wish I'd stumbled, at least I would've had time to put myself in order before I saw what traumatizes me till date.

Richard, my Richard barely some feet away from the church hall, on the ground in a pool of his own blood.

****

Emma is more than broken when she finds her fiancé dead on their wedding day, but what she doesn't realise is how much more broken she will be when she finds out the entire truth.

The banging starts again but this time a lot louder. I can hear the girls screaming up stairs. I pick up my phone and dial 911. "Hello this is 911 what's your emergency?" "There are a bunch of wolves outside my house. I think they have rabies or something I'm not sure." The banging gets louder and I can feel my face getting wet from the tears. "Mamm did you say wolves are there?" "Yes Yes there are wolves about 10 of them out here in my front yard. I need help!" I hang up the phone and sit on the end of the stair case. I close my eyes and start praying. Something I haven't done in a while. "I have faith, there is a god. I have faith, there is a god, I have faith, there is a god." I repeat over and over. The glass breaks and I start screaming. I stand up and try to scramble up the stairs. The door comes falling down and there are about 10 wolves standing in front of my door. A woman emerges and walks toward me. She snaps her fingers and the pretty brown wolf is in front of me. Right there by my face. "Ridanna you know what to do." Her teeth is wrapped around my neck and she sinks them in. I try to scream but it's hard to. At first it hurts but now the pain no longer exists. "Get out," I said in a firm voice, but it shook a bit at the end. The muscles in his jaw tensed when I said that. Instead of getting out, he closed the door and started taking calculative predatory steps toward me. His eyes moved all over my length. My heart started to drum fast. It made me take a step back until my back was flat against the wall. "I said get out," I repeated, trying to sound firm when he was only a step away from me. He stood in front of me with his hands in his pants pocket. "Last time I checked, I still own this place," he said arrogantly in his deep voice, which made me want to sink into the wall. He stood in front of me. "But it's my workplace," I breathed out when he cut an inch of distance between us. His body was not touching me, but my body still twitched as if his calloused hands were moving all over me. I lowered my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself, but my heartbeat raised when I heard steps coming towards us. "Someone is coming. Go from here," I found myself pleading. The steps became louder as if the person were just a few steps away from opening the door. I don't want rumours to be spread here. An evil smile formed on the corner of his lips looking at the distress on my face. "I'm not afraid to be seen with my wife," he said in his deep, low voice, sending shivers down my spine. My eyes snapped towards him in anger. I know he was doing this on purpose because no one here knows we are married. Why is he breaking the deal?

• completed • If you notice any errors then please let me know What was meant to be the best and happiest week of my life turned into the worst when I find out my fiancé was cheating on me 2 days before what was meant to be our wedding day 6 months later my best friend gets married and the last thing I wanted was to see my ex but him being her twin brother, it was hard to avoid him forever. They say however that the best way to get over someone is to get with someone else but with 2 days notice to find a date how will I pull it off and not seem like a total dork? ... I'll be putting trigger warnings before some, but not all because again, this book is dark so please be aware before you continue reading. Secondly, I do not recommend this book to anyone under the age of maturity (continue at your own risk) due to there being ALOT of explicit language and scenes that are heavily detailed and not suitable for everyone. I'm not putting warnings beforehand every single time, so continue at your own risk. Thirdly, I'm open to constructive criticism but not rudeness. Some people are passive aggressive and I'm sensitive. I will mute you with a quickness. And lastly, everything in this book that has to do with organized crime is a work of fiction. None of the characters, events, or descriptions are real. Also, do not romanticize the mafia. It isn't anything like we see written in books. It's much worse.
