I have this theory that one well timed hug from the right person would have changed the series completely. This is that AU. This diverges from cannon near season one episode ten (Buffett Froid), but generally exists in a world where people try to help each other and succeed. Basically, Alana gets therapy, Beverly gives good hugs, and Will spends the rest of his life slowly disentangling himself from what Hannibal did to him. Good times all around. Trigger warnings: Hannibal accidentally giving helpful advice, Alana not being her own therapist, mostly consensual hand-holding
