Zinnia lives in a work divided between the rich (sevids) and the poor (pauperem).
Once a year, 2,000 of the pauperem's children are fixed- a term used to describe a pauperem turning into a Sevid. The Sevid's adopt Pauper children in a website called "Family.com". On the day of the fixing, these children are forced to move to the Sevids with their new family- never to be seen by a Pauper again.

Caleb has a gift: He can sing. But not sing just like any other kid, he might as well be the next pop star of the century. But... no one knows about it because he sings in secret. Why, you ask? Well, it's because he doesn't want others to know him. He's extremely shy. Yep that's right. Caleb is just as shy as how much he loves to sing. His introverted self doesn't allow him to just sing whenever he wants. So he finds time whenever he's alone. When at last everyone leaves him alone, oh how amazing and wonderful his voice echoes out all along the walls of anywhere he can be alone. His amazing talent, however, one day lures in an audience. Together with his newfound 'friend' sworn to keep his singing secret, they find a way to make Caleb's talent known and help him finally face his demons: attention. ----------------------------------------------------------- This is my first attempt at a short story. He even changed his school but somehow ended up catching the eye of the male supporting character. A person who appeared at the end of the novel, just to torture the original owner. Even when the original owner begged for death, he was cured to be tortured again. He was caged in the embrace of the person he was most afraid of. Ren's already tense nerves caused him to stutter, "I'll l-leave right now. I-I..didn't m-mean to come here..." A voice that could bring even the dead back to life whispered with utmost gentleness in Ren's ear, "My sweet, you didn't actually think that I would let you go, right?" His stuttering words stopped when he felt the embodiment of King Yama behind him, sniffing his neck. "You smell just as tempting as that day. I almost couldn't hold back, you know, that day, when you sit on my lap..." Ren cursed himself for the umpteenth time for his carelessness. If only he had not drunk, he would never sit on this lord's lap, and he would not have to worry about the present situation. "I let you go once, angel, not anymore..."
