Watanabe Sara was one of the youngest asset artists for the popular DMMO-RPG, YGGDRASIL. However, after a car accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down and caused her to lose her family, she fell into a deep depression. So when her online friend, Ulbert Alain Odle, invited her to play the game she worked on, It drove her to create a Seraphim Siren named Kailani, an avatar that can swim in the deepest sea and fly so high, she can touch the stars, something she could never do again.
Ulbert, out of love for the only human who had a place in his heart, Created the one being who can have hers in his stead. The cruel and devious Demiurge is designed to do anything for her, by any means necessary.
So when the news that after 12 years the server was shutting down for good, Sara was devastated. The world that she felt free from her chair, was being destroyed. In honor of the game and the world she loves, Sara and Suzuki Satoru, her real-life friend, decide to stay in the game for its last moments. But when at the last moment passed, she and Satoru were still in a new world in their avatar bodies, and the NPCs were now sentient.
