Un soldadito de plomo como ni uno, a pesar de poseer una sola pierna, se le hace llamar "el más intrépido"; se enamoró de una preciosa figurilla de un bailarín pelirrojo, cosa que tal vez le cueste muy caro. Para su mala suerte, es arrancado de su pequeño mundo, comenzado sus aventuras por todo el cruel mundo exterior. Finalmente, cuando sus esperanzas se veían apagadas, un rayo de luz aparece para darle la  salvación que merecía, dejándole en un lugar donde le deparará un final agridulce ante las calurosas garras del destino.
