Seventeen year old Elena Gilbert thought she was doomed to live a simple, mundane life. What she wasn't expecting was to be thrust into the world of the supernatural, or that they were much closer than she thought.

Elena is still troubled though, so is Ariana, as Jeremy has fallen into the drug crowd and is chasing a slatternly girl named Vicki. Vicki also happens to be the sister of Elena's former boyfriend Matt. Unbeknownst to just about everyone, Stefan's brother Damon (also a vampire) has also appeared in town. But what happens when a THIRD Salvatore brother enters the mysterious plot?
