Abyss is from Juneau, Alaska. He now has to adjust to the new place where the weather is hotter than ever in the summer. This place is New Orleans, Louisiana. Going to his new school Armin High School, a small private school where he isn't judged like he was at Reverend High in Juneau.
The young Asian boy meets Christopher Markus in his homeroom. Christopher is an African-American teenager who happens to be Abyss's first friend. At meeting Christopher, the Asian meets several more people of Christopher's 'Club of Misfits.'
