"So what's your type?" "What do you mean?" I pause, looking up from my book to meet the eyes of my dear friend. "Type of what?" She shakes her head with a chuckle. Her head then jerks to her boyfriend, busy trying to figure out a solution in his work. "What type of guy do you like?" "I don't really have one." I reply. "Come on, there must be something a guy does that catches your attention." My eyes casually glance around the courtyard, trying to figure out a quick response to her question. But then I hear a voice speak just to the right of us, Professor Abel happily talking to Mr. Levine. "Well?" "Older." I mumble. "Someone older." "Just older?" His deep grey eyes soften slightly in the sunlight. "Someone... colder too." "So you want someone as bad as Professor Abel?" My friend jokes poking my side with her fingers. I snap my head back to her, surprised at her question. To brush off the embarrassment I shrug my shoulders, faking a smile but my heart is pounding furiously. "Haha, very funny." It's as if our conversation has been leaked when my eyes rest back on the tall individual. The grey swirls are staring right back at me, his colleague oblivious of his wandering eyes. His expression is stern but in the light it seems as though his lips are curled up, making my stomach do a flip. "My type." Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

"Gennifer Ortega," her screams bounced from wall to wall and her tugging on the chains made the cold rusty chains dig into her skin. Her throat hurt from the screaming and crying. Her hair clung the her sweaty forehead and tear streaked cheeks. Her eyes were red and puffy and her body lathered in bruises. "What is your name?" "Please, you have the wrong person," she begged him her body thrashing, trying to get free and away from the tazer stick. She felt it press against her stomach and the electricity coursing through her veins. This time it went on longer than usual and she felt like she was going to explode from the pain. She was sure her screams could be heard through the walls but yet again no one has come for her. "What is your name?" "Please I can't anymore," she begged her voice thick from the crying and screaming. Her whole body hurt and she could feel the blood oozing from the wounds that the chains had caused. The splashing sounds as the waves hit the stone calmed me down and I took a deep breath. Yes. This was it. Bound by rules, secrets, and a tangled web of emotions, she finds herself caught between what's right and what feels real. But when betrayal cuts deep and lines are crossed, can they still find a way back to each other-or are they destined to keep breaking each other apart? _ "Class dismissed," she said curtly, already organizing her things. I was just about to pack my stuff when I heard her voice again. "Chung Subin." I froze mid-motion, my hand hovering over my bag. Why is she calling me now? The entire class went quiet, their eyes bouncing between me and Ms. Lee. "Yes, ma'am?" I answered, standing up hesitantly. "Follow me," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument. She didn't even look at me as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "And carry this," she added, motioning to a stack of papers and a book she had left on her desk. I glanced at Woo-ri, who was giving me the most bewildered look. "Go," she mouthed silently, clearly curious but also worried. I walked over to Ms. Lee's desk, quickly grabbing her things. Turning to Woo-ri, I gave her a small wave. "I'll catch up with you later, Woo-ri," I said softly. "Go ahead without me." "You sure? Don't let her eat you alive!" she whispered dramatically, but I waved her off with a nervous smile. _ A professor and her student, drawn to each other in ways neither of them can explain. The boundaries are clear, but their emotions refuse to be ignored.

It's me with another 9/11 story bc I have some weird stomach bug North Tower. She's an 11-year-old Manhattan native in the sixth grade. This girl loves reading, writing, art, and spending time with the best twin sister in the world. She also captains a team in one of the most well-known junior ice hockey leagues in the country. The only odd thing about her? She is the heart and soul...of one of the most famous buildings in New York City. Even that isn't very odd, at least not until the building comes crashing down one seemingly normal Tuesday morning. South Tower. 2001 is gonna be HER YEAR! Well...of course she's sharing it with her sister. Her silver hair, piercing silver eyes, and pale silver skin make her stand out from the millions of New Yorkers around her. Unlike her sister, she shines bright between the pipes as an extremely talented young goaltender. Everything else about her is the same as her sister, so they get along very well. South Tower really loves being a twin. Especially a Twin Tower. Trevor. He is twenty-one years old and just started working as a financial advisor in the 7 World Trade Center building. Living and working in bustling, colorful Lower Manhattan was his dream throughout all of his mostly boring Oklahoma childhood, and now he finally gets to do it for real! But one hot Tuesday morning in mid-September changes his New York City life in ways he never imagined. James. He's finally turning forty years old. He's the proud father of identical twin girls and the owner of a very successful Manhattan café. September 11 is going to be a very busy birthday for James! In addition to being a busy day, it will also be an emotional day. Especially when his daughters, the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, collapse and perish before his very eyes. You should be advised that nothing about my life is going to make any sense. Sorry, but that is just the cold, horrifying, acid trip horror show that is my life. So without hesitation, I'm just going to lay it all out for you and let you decide what to do from there. Strange Fact #1: I was found naked in a cave when I was less than a week old in the summer of 1629. I should also let you know that I stopped aging at the age of twenty five. So, I have currently been twenty five years old for four hundred and two years, with no sign of ever changing. I don't know why. I don't know how. Acid trip horror show... Strange Fact #2: I can't be killed. I mean, I'm sure I could be killed if someone really put their heart into it, but I have been burned alive, ran over, shot in the chest, stabbed through the heart and fallen off the edge of a cliff, and I've walked away completely fine every time. It hurt, obviously, but in minutes I was back to normal. Strange Fact #3: I'm not alone.
