A Second Awakening of Magic. This is how old books describe the changes in magical ability. Most of the time this was caused by trauma or the desire to survive. A state in which you can make the impossible come true. It was said that during the witch hunt in the Middle Ages many witches had this awakening. But also that it was probably terrible to watch. No wonder that Muggles back then believed witches would make a diabolical pact with the devil. Granger never dreamed that she would be able to access this magic.
