Ghost, Soap, & Gaz are in the mountains on a mission. A snowstorm starts and they seek shelter in a seemingly abandoned town. When they enter, they are greeted with the house being warmer than expected. The next thing they know, Ghost has a gun to the back of his head.
"Who sent you?"
Who is their unsuspecting host? Will she let them stay? And why does Ghost have an overwhelming urge to protect her?
This Fic came to my mind after seeing a tiktok C.ai prompt, so shoutout to @dawn_141 on C.ai and @dawn_141chai on tiktok for the opening prompt (First Paragraph) Thank you for the inspo.

Summary: Elaina was recruited by TF:141 as their permanent onsite medic. She slowly gets to know the team, except for one. Simon "Ghost" Riley. Author's Note 2: This has some things from the games, characters too. I will be including the betrayal by Sheperd and Graves, but in my story, Soap wasn't killed. Just letting the readers know, and please no backlash or comments as I will delete them. This is fan fiction not cannon. Having said that, if the characters seem out of character I'm sorry but this is how they came out as I wrote this. Again, no backlash or rude comments. If you don't like it then don't read the story. "Isabella." I widen my eyes in shock at my name. "Simon." "Don't call me that." Ghost says, short and curt. His hand stiffens on the fork he's holding. "Don't call me that." I reply. Ghost puts the fork down rather roughly, then starts scrubbing a plate with force as if he's channeling his anger into the helpless dish. "Irritating." He says through clenched teeth, the word almost spat. I can hear his breathing through the mask now, and his voice is low. Gravelly. "Impossible." I reply, taking the plate from his hands to dry. He turns to me quickly, a little soap sloshing to the floor. I look up at him, fast. There's nothing else on the entire base other than me and him. Everything else is just background noise. "Give up, Red." "Never." He backs me into the counter, pinning me, the distance between us closing rapidly. When he's this close, less than a foot away, I really wonder just how tall he actually is. Much taller than me. The counter bites my back as his words press closer than his body. I feel a shiver ripple through me from the warmth falling in waves off his chest. Price appears in the doorway, a dark look on his face, his posture curved into a hard line. We both look over at him quickly. "New information just came in.
