Ryan Hawthorne's life isn't that exciting. It's an endless cycle of going to school, watching Netflix, and avoiding people. Especially those that attend Sunny-side Support Group with him. Depression brings with it a dry, tasteless existence especially since Liz danced out of his life.
Liz was the most optimistic person to ever walk through the doors of Sunny-side Church and Ryan didn't understand how she could smile. He didn't understand her or why she pulled him into her chaos and just abandoned him there.
