At the behest of Lady Proxima, Azuma leaves his home colony and enters the Vanadis Institute's central colony. Upon arrival, Azuma encounters Gale Victorious who takes interest in his Dreadnought Raven.
Now other Dreadnought pilots desire to challenge Azuma. With his own ambitions and goals, Azuma will have to prove his worth as a pilot alongside the Dreadnought Raven.
As Ion begins to appear on Mars, Lady Proxima proposes the continued mining of Ion for the sake of a dying Earth and its people. But Proxima is also a political figure of APEX with her own hidden motives.
Tensions begin to rise on the decision of Ion as allegiances are drawn and sides are chosen. In the end, Freyja can't help but wonder, where does Azuma fit into all of this? Does Proxima really have his well-being at heart?
