Dani watches enough television to know that the way these things start is really very simple. Girl meets boy. Girl finds boy attractive. Girl goes to some slightly insane and extravagant lengths to express feelings to boy. Boy fails to reciprocate feelings. Repeat.
But how many times can you hit the rewind button on the remote before the battery dies? Dani think’s she’s just about out of juice and ready to wait for the battery to charge when she accidentally goes back to the beginning. 

Dani doesn't know how many more times she can watch the same show and expect a different ending; she doesn't realize she might have actually started a new episode with the same, simple opening scene. Girl Meets Boy.
