Beatrix Nightshade did indeed not sign up to babysit, however as the newest recruit to the infamous Avengers, she just gets what job is left. That job is essentially a glorified babysitter for the notorious Loki Laufeyson.
At first it didn't seem like such a big deal, he didn't say much he just brooded in the corner of his glass cell. Bea soon grew bored in solitude and struck conversation with him one day, they found common ground.
Tony, one random Tuesday, decides he wants to 'rehabilitate' Loki and puts poor Beatrix in charge once again. A promotion perhaps? Not quite...
As their time together continues, something else unexpected blossoms between them.
