A contract between Humans and Vampires is made after a war between the two beings. In order to insure peace to both sides, a human of the royal family is to be given to the vampire prince, regardless of their gender.

So, the Kingdom of Rosefalls, sends their second son, who is around the Vampire princes age and known to be beautiful and eternal.
