Luke Patterson x OC
"Hey, Lu?"
"Hm?"
"Why do you call me sunshine?"
His smile only grew as he glanced at the blonde sprawled out beside him, the gentle pinks and oranges of the setting sun making the subtle blush dusting her cheeks all the more prominent.
The answer was never the same, a billion reasons cascading through his thoughts in a whirlwind of taunts and hidden meanings. The ache in his back was steadily making itself more known, taught black shingles digging harshly into the skin, but he didn't dare move.
Warmth radiated from all around him, mixing with the steady lull of her record player drifting through the open window behind them, wrapping him in a sense of comfort and tranquility unlike anything else. He let out a deep breath, feeling his whole body sink further into the roof, further into her side.
"Cause I wouldn't be here without it."
